Sally Nicholls

Hi There!

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Sally Nicholls and I'm the author of 'Shadow Girl', 'Ways to Live Forever', 'Season of Secrets', 'All Fall Down', and other books which are published by Marion Lloyd Books at Scholastic.

Eleven-year-old Olivia has been in care since she was five, and is just beginning her sixteenth placement. But the house holds dark secrets. Find out more in my latest book, 'Close Your Pretty Eyes'

'Ways to Live Forever' is about a boy with leukaemia. It won the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize and the Glen Dimplex New Writer of the Year Award. 'Season of Secrets' is based on the pagan myth of the green man. It has some fantasy in it, but is also a story about the problems facing a very real family.

'All Fall Down' is about a young girl trying to look after her brothers and sister in the face of the biggest catastrophe in historical memory - the Black Death of 1349.

I'm also the author of two very short books. 'A Lily, A Rose' is about a medieval girl who is forced to marry a man in his forties. ‘Shadow Girl’ is about a girl in foster care who meets a mysterious girl who is not what she seems. Both are published by Barrington Stoke.
